World Refugee Sunday 2020

God cares for the people seeking refuge in our world. As followers of Jesus, we are called to compassionately respond to people made vulnerable by circumstances. But is there anything we can really do? Yes. This World Refugee Sunday, you are invited to participate with followers of Jesus and others from around the world, In Step. Through increasing awareness of what’s happening with refugees, in our churches, our communities, and the world, you can discover the needs. By sharing the resources we each have, we can gain hope with refugees as Jesus’ followers. Through prayer, joining a friendship circle, volunteer mentoring, sponsorship with your church, or together with other churches, involvement with immigration services or financial contribution... Something beautiful happens when we walk this path together. We serve together, in step with one another, and with God. “The LORD watches over the foreigners, and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.” Psalm 146:9 "So you, too, must show love to foreigners, for you yourselves were once foreigners in the land of Egypt". Deuteronomy 10:19
